The odds are regulating a bit... Ice Box was overbet all day today. He's no better on paper than Fly Down, who is a much better price.

Not sure what to make of this... thinking First Dude controls the pace, Fly Down runs well and who knows from there... Ice Box makes sense from a talent standpoint, but the pace does not figure to be quick.

Enjoy everyone!

Nice for Mike Smith too. That's one happy jockey right now. His face is gonna stay that way if he keeps grinning like that.

Congrats to Drosselmeyer. Nice win.

What to make of First Dude? I know he did all the work in both the Preakness and Belmont but didn't win either race. Game again down the stretch but just couldn't hang on. Is he turning into a "money pit" or am I looking into this too much?

How Da' Tara-ish was it? He didn't steal the race, and he's by Distorted Humor out of Golden Ballet so as pedigrees go a G1 is not out of nowhere. He was a horse folks thought would get it together before now and has dicey feet which could explain some of his trouble. First Dude is the one that slowed that sucker down to a snail crawl.

Now as for overall sucktatude, that time was kinda crap. I could've won it in 2:31 and change. Underwhelming field, but good result for Winstar and Mott.

That was like watching the two last place teams in the WNBA play out the string...

There should be an asteriek (*) attached to this entire Triple Crown Series.

Winstar is now doomed to stand two triple crown race winning plugs...

The Governor of New York is getting armchair award presentation grief for referring to Drosselmeyer as "horse #7."

Trust me, I'm no fan of the current Governor of New York.

But I did realize as he was doing a pretty good general job of thanks......that he certainly works without a teleprompter or cue cards.

Should we appeal to have Eskendereya declared the TC winner in absentia?

We should just have the tapes erased and the records sealed like they do in court

Nice score, though, for those who used the ridiculous horse name angle
