Hello Munster705

My name is THE_FAT_MAN and I'm am a FAT MAN from Brooklyn. I love to eat, sit around the house in my underwear eating, sweating, and drinking beer and interacting with my friends at DT. Oh, and I prefer THIN women.

Just in case you're NOT either a computer generated post or some DOOFUS looking for attention, might you know of some women in my area, BROOKLYN, that would be interested in dating a FAT MAN?

Thank You very much, Munster705

I am torn about this. I would like to see a TC winner, but I cannot stand Rick Dutrow. Every time I see him on TV I wanna punch him in the face. Ill be pulling for someone else to beat him in the Belmont, not because of the horse, but because of the trainer.

I'm not going to worry about comparing generations. I'm just enjoying his run at history, in spite of my personal feelings about his human connections. (save for Desormeaux).
That's the frustrating thing to me. He very well could be the next Seattle Slew but he'll never get the chance to prove it against older horses like Slew did. Makes it tough for me to get excited about him winning the Triple Crown. For the next Triple Crown winner I want one of three things; to be a 2yo champion, to run freakishly fast figures, or to run past three. The last one won't happen unless it is a gelding and Big Brown doesn't fit the first two.

I've decided to leave to posterity the determination of BB's place in posterity. If he wins the Triple Crown, I will be there to see it, I will always remember it, and it will be pretty cool, regardless of how he ranks in the pantheon of the greats.

Doesn't seem like a fair question, mainly because we've seen Curlin run as an older horse and we never will see the other three do the same.

Bernardini
68, 90, 104, 113, 114, 116 (if you exclude his first race then his next figure was 117)

Big Brown
90, 106, 106, 109, 100, ???

So he doesn't even compare favorably with the last two overhyped horses and people want to compare him to Secretariat, Seattle Slew, and Spectacular Bid?
so?

The problem I have with any of this, including deciding where BB fits while ranking him against other 3 year olds of even THIS decade is that it is entirely possible that BB could win the Belmont against competition that is at best less than a competitive graded stakes race. If the Belmont is his last competitive race and he never looks in the eye of worthy competition mid stretch, how does history anyone know how BB would have handled a moment of challenge where his heart could be measured by having to overcome a foe in front of him in the final furlong of any significant race.

Are not the finest, swiftest and legendary performers of the sport measured by their response to moments of truth and not Beyers or negative TGH numbers? If the horse never sees worthy competition that challenge his best how will you ever know if he is not deserving of being compared to the best the sport has seen. It is not the horses fault that greed and premature retirement have currently ruined this sport. Winning from the outside in the Florida or Ky. Derby is not by itself cause to be canonized but it doesn't mean he is clearly undeserving of that status as an undefeated champion either.

It would be interesting to see how a quarter crack
opening back up would effect things... before the Belmont.
Dont want to see it happen. But it would
create some interesting situations and evaluations.

Did You Consider The Trip Factor In This Beyers? 12 Hole Fla Derby
20 Hole 4 Wide Ky Derby. If Beyers Were That Good A Gauge Of Horses We Would All Be On Easy Street. They Are A Suckers Crutch.

You might want to look at post #13 in this thread.
