What you have to remember is that he beat Notional on a surface that Notional obviously didn't like. Remember that they installed the synthetic surface into Hollywood Park. Notional is also a much better horse than he showed in the Futurity.

I like Belgravia a lot though. He has shown a lot of promise. I will have to see the field for either the Lane's End or the BG Stakes (whichever one he starts in) to see if I like him for either of those races or not. It will be really tough for him off of a layoff though. However, at this point, I can't like him for the Derby with the setbacks that he has experienced.

i dont think he can win the derby, but with his running style i think he can get a piece, even at this point

So the question now goes to WHICH prep race gets him ready for the Derby?

Lands End which then gives him 3 weeks to Blue Grass? Does he run both? I don't think so. Does he run in the Derby on 6 weeks rest only running in Lands End? Not a good move either.

Find a easier tightener on the 24th somewhere else and then run in BG in Keeneland and run for the Derby with 3 weeks rest? Makes more sense.

Biancone's comments from like 3 to 4 weeks back were that he will definitely run in the Blue Grass and hopefully be ready to prep for it in the Lane's End but that he wouldn't be afraid to run the horse in the Derby off just the Blue Grass. He will not be running him in the Lane's End and then skipping the Blue Grass to go straight for the Derby. Him and Twilight Meteor could easily both wind up in the Derby field without ever running a race on dirt.

Is that like the easter egg hunt or you get in if you roll the egg with a spoon across the white house lawn in case your horse stumbles out of the gate and your horse comes in 3rd in your derby prep.

I think he is in the same boat as Cobalt Blue. They are just way behind everyone. But if anyone could do it, I am sure the Frenchie could do it. But I love him and I hope they dont ruin him to just get to the Derby.

A Mr. Greeley out of a mare who won a stakes and 3 other races at stakes distances, but couldn't win a race of any kind at 8f+. Miler at best, more likely a one-turn miler. A horse like him MIGHT win a longer race on class and/or fitness, but he won't have a fitness edge with this kind of light schedule, and as I recall, he barely lasted over Dilemma , who didn't have the best of trips, in the Prevue, so I see no overwhelming class edge.
