I wish SkidsM would select his super bowl teams now.

I would like to see corroboration of my throw outs.

You watch...he will give odds on a sweep for either super bowl team...it don't matter to him.

Did anyone bet on the game either on line or with a bookie? How was it handled? Did they cancel the wager or is it still in play?

This whole series has been bizarre.

You mean like Kazmir getting pinched last night? The bizarre missed call when Longoria tagged Rollins? There are simply a lot of fans that obviously don't mind missed calls. The traditionalists couldn't care less about getting it right.

My wager is still in play thru a book. Same odds, same everything.

and this series is off the wall crazy. I think it has more to do with the horrendous umps. The Longoria tag is just the tip of the iceberg.

ps...that Fox Trax thing is a joke, a very unfunny joke.

Well...yeah.
And the fact that the Rays are even here...
The ENTIRE umpiring crew (usually one or two are horrible but an entire crew?).
Game 3
The irony that the new "suspended game rule" was implemented last year.
The weather AND the decision to take action WHEN they did. (If I were Philly, I'd be pissed.)
The 1st WS game to be suspended into another day.
Possibly only the second time to play into November.

pretty much....but if you saw how they set it up (FOX TRAC)before the game....you may actually believe it. it's pretty accurate. it was explained to me...not that I 100% understood it. the camera angles are a little off from the normal telecasts at Philly and ALOT at the TROP. In fact, the center field angle at the TROP is on the other side of the pitcher.

Like said before. I dont really care about the Longo tag or the play at 1st with Howard/Crawford. It was ALL about Moyer. The strike zone in that game turned the series around.

You have a point, but the RAYS seemed very flat over the weekend. They certainly could be more professional as far as energy level/ concentration goes. Philly has wanted all these games. Rays seemed interested in games 2 and 5. They are gunna have to be more consistent about that. I think you needed this break, because the team was probably gunna lay down again. They better turn into men real quickly.

You are very correct. Here is what I wrote over on the Longoria tag thread:

The Rays already won their "World Series" when we beat the Red Sox. They used all their emotion up in that series. Not only did we (the grounds crew) notice it but so did George Hendrick and some other coaches. We were talking to him about it before game 2 and he was worried that beating the Sox -which were better than the Phills took a toll.

Being realistic and knowing that we probably weren't as good as the Sox, it's hard to think that we can come back . IF...IF we can get past Hammels tonight, we have a chance....albeit a slim one.

On another note.....the Rays treated the full time employees to all expense paid trip to game 3 and 4 up in Philly. The fans were so bad there that they needed extra security because fans were "animals" as the media put it. I guess they were throwing food and beer all over the kids in Rays gear and calling the women vulgar things just for being, well a women in Rays gear.
Talk about a real home field advantage....they had anyone without Phillies gear in fear.

However....the Phills' players have been so polite. They are the ONE team that will use the trash cans provided. Dobbs, Stairs and even Howard got up off of the bench to throw shtuff away. Everyone else (besides the Tigers and Reds) are pigs and think they are too good to use trash cans.

Been a while since they won anything. I am not a big fan of going to games in other people's parks. I have never understood that desire, but I don't think that's an acceptable way to act(throwing beer n' food etc.) I do think(for the most part) you shouldn't have to have opposing fans all over your house. A few is one thing, but the way the Red Sox n' Cub fans do it is disgusting. They have no respect for another team's house. Shouldn't have to put up with that. People need to respect other people's home games. I honestly think your team has been deprived of a real home field advantage quite a bit in this post season. Philly fans act like they own a whole part of your house. It's pathetic. Same when the Red Sox were there. You need to cherish your home field advantage more. Don't just give up a whole g d bank of tickets like that. That's crazy. You need to protect your team more than that. That's a problem. It's an inexperienced franchise. You can't be that nice. You will regret that.

Be refreshing if you weren't always the most likely candidate to follow my posts. It just makes it even more obvious that you are more interested in the writer than the actual thread topic.

Philles Fans DO own a whole part of the Trop. There is probably as many true Phillies fans who live in Tampa now as Rays fans. A kid I know went to game two and said it must have been 40% Red in there.

Rays fans can do something about that, but most people in FL didnt even realize Tampa had a team until a few weeks ago.

Ain't College football. Need to upgrade the baseball i.q. in the Tampa area. Do you think you would ever see the opposing fans act that way at Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, or Citizens Water Slide?

there would be a civil war again if Tampa fans came into Citizens Water Slide and tried what we do at Tropicana.

And let me tell ya.

The north would win again... but this time it would be much easier.
