Hmmm...am wondering if anybody has any comments on Hard Spun's post position in relation to the rest of the speed in the race....

Sam P.

I think there are about 7 horses more likely to win the race, but Sam P.'s odds may be the biggest overlay anyway.

Oh yes, mwuhahahaha, I love it!! I agree with BTW when he said Sam P had a pretty nice race in the SA Derby. Game to the end, thru traffic, I like his chances to hit the board in this race.

Curlin and he finishes strongly,

Check his 94 Moss late pace fig. (Moss' highest)

He uses his #2 post position for advantage, gets a rail trip and lets the speed peppered all around him set a crazy pace. He's shown that he can get position, maintain it and relax...speedsters won't hurry him.His quick turn of foot gets him out of trouble if boxed in. He's got guts and muscle to barrel through a seam when it's time.

I only hope I'm not the one eating crow after the Derby. I'm tossing Curlin...

Default Sorry to confuse everyone

I thought it would be amusing to bring this thread back to see who everyone took last year before we make our "ONE DERBY HORSE" pick this year.
