Such a horrible tragedy. I really liked this horse. This is so devastating, esp. to have happened out of nowhere.

They say that one of the reins broke and that was what caused the horse to bolt. What a freak thing to happen. I was looking forward to seeing him run on Saturday. Pete Eurton is such a nice guy. I feel terrible for him and the rest of the connections.

It was the left rein that broke, which caused the horse to veer right, into the fence.
