Sumitas's mare is bred to Desert Warrior. It took him lots of thought to come up with this. No need to disrespect his choice, even though it might not agree with yours. Heck, if I could afford to ship one of mine to Jump Start, I certainly would. As of now, I'll take what I've got.

But I don't see how bashing a success story sire figures into this. Noone was knocking Desert Warrior, and I can't see why he would knock Jump Start.

Well, Mike, I don't know a lot about Jump Start. My guess is that Sumitas was talking about soundness...but that's for him to answer.
Speaking of "Best of Luck"...that foal is very close to being born.

I remember having a dream about the BC Juvy the night before Jump Start ran in that race. In my dream he won, but in reality it did not work out for him. He was pushed by D. Wayne and sometimes that backfires. I am thrilled to see him "winning" at stud and I am certainly thrilled to see another son of Slew's best son at stud succeeding.

Anyone who saw this horse's first few races knows that without being pushed into sumbmision, he could have been ANYTHING.
His debut at CD was as fine a debut as you will ever see, and at saratoga in the Special that he won, he banged into the gate real hard coming out and somehow got up anyway.
Of all the horses D Wayne pushed into the ground, I bet if you asked him if he could have one "do over", who would it be, he'd say Jump Start.

Thats an interesting statement Mike... and I wouldnt doubt it. I've always loved him and the more I look at him, the more I wish he fit my filly. Check your PMs Mike.

I think you are absolutely right about Jump Start and D. Wayne. I had followed the horse from his debut and your comments brought back memories for me. The coach has had so much talent in his barn. It is too bad that he never knew when to lighten up on them. Boston Harbor was a big letdown for me, among others. He had so much promise. The list goes on and on, with Jump Start at the top.

my point on JS is that one needs to be cautious in the breeding. i suppose that goes for any breeding. 2 yrs ago i recommended JS to a friend for her mare. of course i was ignored.
