I think Canterbury Park should talk to a speed figure maker, if they want to ever pull a race like this off. They should reach out to CJ and talk to him.

Surfaces change speed from day to day.

Tweaking the distance won't solve it, unless the two surfaces play to the same variant as they did yesterday.

Also, the turf horses were a more classy group of horses than the dirt horses, yesterday.

The Turf horses were open $7,500 claimers. The dirt horses were $5,000 claimers, which haven't won two races in the last six months.

The fact that the turf horses had better form -- is probably a reason why people foolishly considered them.

Here's the video replay of the race -- the gates appeared to open first in the turf race -- but even with that advantage, the dirt horses still owned the race.

The horse who finished 6th out of 8 in the dirt ... beat every single one of the 12 turf horses.

I thought the turf horses were virtually dead money, so it was a great bet from that perspective. But of course I didn't bet the dirt horse that won.....
