I would love to see a New York stakes race named for Say Florida Sandy.
Just to jog the memory: 98 Starts, 33 Wins, 17 Places, 12 Shows Career Earnings: $2,085,408 Raced as an entire male from age 2 through age 9. First NY-bred to go over $2M in earnings, and he did it all in sprints and without ever winning a GI, to my recollection. Remains 2nd in NY-bred career earnings behind only Funny Cide. I think a NYRA stakes honoring this guy would be more than appropriate. Hope it happens.
