And a 500-1 shot can win the Kentucky derby if you get a 19 horse pileup... Suffice to say with the dearth of National Guard units deployed in Vietnam and Daddy having some say it would be a safer bet to bet the 500-1 shot ahead of GWB seeing action in Vietnam.

I’ve been a super patriot all my life I’ve always wanted to serve. I’ve fought al Qaeda, I’ve fought the Taliban, but now our greatest threat is domestic from those who want to grow our government, grow our taxes, creating a country that is not what the founders wanted,”

Kaifesh was an active duty Marine from 1990 to 1996. He remained in the Marine reserves after 1996 until the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 when he went back to active duty serving until Sept. 30, 2013. Kaifesh remains a Marine reserve colonel and will take command of the 2nd Civil Affairs Group in Washington, DC, in March.

Kaifesh served five tours, three in Iraq and two in Afghanistan as company commander, civil affairs officer, intelligence officer, battle commander and governance officer.

Tammy Duckworth, Iraq War Veteran, Urges Congress To Ratify Disabilities Treaty.

Quote:
On the first anniversary of her election to Congress, Rep. Tammy Duckworth, an Illinois Democrat and Iraq war veteran, urged the passage of a treaty that would protect the rights of individuals with disabilities on a global scale.

"We often travel to places that have no idea how to accommodate someone with an artificial limb, guide stick, or wheelchair," Duckworth said, pointing out that in many countries the disabled are "hidden" and "considered to be an embarrassment."

The freshman lawmaker, who unseated former tea party Rep. Joe Walsh in Illinois' 8th Congressional District last year, lost both legs while serving in the Iraq War. As Duckworth told the committee Tuesday, when she returned for the first time in May to the same war zone where she was injured, she was pleased to learn that both Iraq and Afghanistan had recently ratified the CRPD.

"We wounded warriors have done our job serving our country. Many of us sacrificed a great deal in doing so," she said. "We did this because we believe in our nation. We believe our country should lead."
