a local, regional and national problem, not limited to new york alone. he makes great points. it's rather disingenuous when politicians speak out against subsidies, when one knows just how many they support-but only when they go to the 'right' people who need that help. |

The question that begs to be asked of Skorlton is what about the supposed turnover of NYRA operations to "for profit" entity? How could they possibly believe that anyone would be interested in running NYRA w/o casino proceeds? Since we are already a year into the states "leadership" what exactly has been done in that regard? They took forever to hire Captain Presentation, still haven't announced the vaunted, new racing guy and the board meets as often as the Giants win games.
