The race was ripe for a price, I just landed on the wrong one. They are longshots for a reason. Having said that, the 5 was a tough horse to have there.

We all can usually find the horse afterwards but I'm scratching my head a little over the #5. At the break the only horse I had eyes for is the #8 because I feared him the most. The posted fractions were 22.0 - 45 - 1:10.3 the closer's needed to be a little closer I think. This track is playing a tad fast.

I agree with you. I was expecting Sanchez to go a bit with the 12 to at get him in the mid pack 3rd to 5th range. The 5 was a tough sell, 0/8 at the distance, looked like a horse that did not want to go more than 5 1/2 furlongs. Did show speed in the past and I figured they would get close early with that horse, just did not expect him to keep going late. Speed is always a dangerous commodity in this game.

The (5) horse has never shown allot of speed but does finish decently. Having said that he easily ran his best race of the last 10. When most horses (12) drop down in distance and move up a bit in class they often aren't part of the pace. Today I seen the 12 as a horse that would run behind the 2nd group considering he was starting way out there and there was lots of early speed in this one...

Oh and the trainer Lee Phillip is now 1 fer 20
