Congratulations to all the partners who share in Corybant's maiden breaker today. There have been seemingly endless setbacks with this quick but quixotic gelding including a complete retraining of his gate etiquette and psyche breaking from it. Woodbury Payne and his wife Olga did all the development work with Corybant and then LRL/PIM gate crew supervisor Goose Daniels pitched in when an additional 3 months of work were needed after the summer to make today possible.
The thank yous start with them, continue with Gary, Paul and the Barn 60 staff, of course, and then Sammy Camacho and his agent Hall of Famer Jorge Velasquez. The best part of today is that Cory is ultimately headed to the turf later in the year where he should be at his best. He is a real character and I hope partners, their families and friends have many opportunities to get to know him and to take pictures with him.
