What would draw bigger ratings, Bama vs ND for all the marbles or any other combination of games? I guarantee the ratings for that game would go though the roof.

unless 2 teams Ahead of nd lose, they are OUT. Bama passed them in the bcs computer. as long as the other teams keep winning they will pass nd too. nd is out of computer points.

bama vs anyone would draw ratings. you are aware that demographics have changed over the years?


for instance, bama vs michigan was the same time as usc vs hawaii. the bama game blew the so cal game out of the water ratings-wise.

somewhat, but why would a 5th year senior who may actually be a student transfer??....and I guess them getting their degree would not be punishing them at all, so I see your point I guess and in fact I was the one being the braying and howling monkey as normal!

I have the viewpont that it was a criminal case and the criminals are in prison and those who were invovled in the coverup are dead or no longer affiliated with the university. I'm not sure what particular NCAA violations occurred. It was to make them an example of football and basketball taking on an obscene place at a university and that is fine, but football and basketball having obscene importance at universities was not stopped whatsoever by the hideous situation at Penn STate.

As long as you can make an example of someone is good as long as nothing changes which it hasn't.

You are 100% correct here. My thing is that nothing Penn St was doing was to gain any kind of competitive advantage. Other schools out there are paying players, giving them cars, employing family members, providing prostitutes, etc., in order to get the players and gain a competitive advantage. To me, those are the kinds of things that the NCAA should be worried about, not criminal offenses involving long since retired, jailed, or dead administrators and coaches. When kids are taking things illegally and you want to punish the school and the kids, fine. At Penn St, the kids that were victimized were already punished.......so let's punish a bunch more people that had nothing at all to do with anything. IF Paterno or any of the other administrators were still there, that would be different. But they aren't.

so the NCAA should not punish a "football above all else including child rape" attitude? Especially when that attitude let a monster run free for a decade? and the rape was occuring on football team grounds?


believe me, I think the punishment was a little much, but there were punishments that were needed, and I'm fine with Joe Pa being stripped of his wins, big fine, scholarships lost...
