I remember on my summer vacation when I was about 12 years old -- my father would drive around Daytona Beach in a brand new Viper with me and go to the Hooters across the street from the Daytona Beach Dog Track to try and hire greeters for his dealership. They were great for business, especially outdoor "tent sales" ... that was until he eventually got himself sued for sexual harassment, at least twice that I know of. |

The Daytona Beach dog track (GREAT place) is literally right next door to the slightly more famous Daytona International Speedway.
Those 1 PM matinee at the dogs -- 6 PM Hooters -- and 7:30 PM evening program at the dogs with my grandfather were fond memories of my childhood. They only simulcasted Calder and NYRA, I believe. Those were the days when U Can Do It was the star at Calder and Lady Quick and I Get Around were unbeatable at Daytona |

They re-built the whole complex a couple of years ago, and moved it a bit to the south. Haven't been in there yet, but drove by it a couple of weeks ago. It looked quite nice. Not necessarily Taj Mahal Derby Lane nice, but nice.
