* Wise Dan finished 4th in an Alw race at Churchill with Leperoux on -- and came back a few weeks later to romp in the Firecraker at 14/1 odds with Leparoux off.

* Questing was off the board in back-to-back starts in turf alw races for Leparoux -- she switched to Irad Ortiz Jr. AND dirt. Huge figure alw win, followed by back-to-back romping Gr 1 wins.

* Fort Larned was beat by 12 lengths in the Foster with Leparoux up -- and he came right back to dominate the Cornhusker at 7/2 and win the Whitney at 7/1 for Brian Hernandez Jr. in his next two races.

* Emma's Encore was 2nd in a dirt alw at Belmont with Leparoux before she went to Junior Alverado and won the Victory Ride at 39/1 odds and the Grade 1 Prioress at 5/1 in her next two starts.

* Union Rags was 3rd in the Florida Derby to Take Charge Indy and well beaten in the Kentucky Derby with Leparoux -- he won the Belmont at 5/2 with Johnny V.

At the very least, Julian has been unlucky. That's a lot of quality mounts he couldn't capitalize on . Fortunately for guys like Mario Gutierraz, Junior Alvarado, Irad Ortiz, Brian Hernandez Jr., and John Court who don't get many shots on real horses these days.
Great stuff! I am amazed at how many good mounts Pepe gets when there are so many good jocks, even young ones and a very good bug, in the locker room. I have to believe that trainers/owners are not realizing how many top horses have been upgraded with Leparoux off. He should not be riding regularly in New York.

If Dutrow Jr. trained Questing -- she would have come back in a week and absolutely smoked the Travers field.

It's bad enough that Magic Ticket was a joint winner -- but the other Speightstown layoff horse carried that field along for a mile and was only beaten about 7 or 8 lengths and he'd been off since February the 4th.

It wasn't pretty.

Golden Ticket was Leparoux off. He finished 2nd in an N1X Alw/opt claimer last out with him up. So the bad luck for Julian continues.

The great David Cohen got him a share of the win with a nice ground saving trip.

The ROI on 'Leparoux off' must be staggering.

Of course he just won the last and killed any chance of me cashing a ticket today.

Charlie Lopestri is a training God. Nice to see a few PID shippers doing ok at Saratoga. They will start knocking them dead at Keeneland.

I'll be loading up on Unbridled's Note as soon as Leparoux gets taken off. That ride today was absolutely brutal.

If Dutrow would just shut up and pay more attention he could actually be good for racing instead of the resident punching bag. At the very least he is willing to think out of the box and does like to run his horses.

Is the New York Court of Appeals the only thing left between Dutrow and the 10 year suspension? If it is, Dutrow is in a lot of trouble getting that rescinded.
