I can't wait to see how Romney explains this. This guy blatantly lies more than any presidential candidate I've seen, even John Edwards. And the reason Romney is lying about this is so stupid ... it's simply so the Obama campaign can't nail him for outsourcing jobs to China, and to try avoiding to show his tax returns. He's denying he was CEO of Bain when Bain did nasty stuff.

Of course, when you can't run on your achievements as Governor of a state you didn't really live in, all that's left is, "I'm a good businessman". He was a good investment manager. He didn't develop companies - he created profit for investors. Different thing.

How anyone avoids mentioning that the head of Obama's jobs council is Jeffrey Immelt and somehow this is a problem for Romney? A private citizen at the time of this egregious and evil outsourcing. When will the President be asked about this in an open forum?

Well, I don't think his new handlers gave him very good advice to avoid answering and try and attack Obama, because he's already being slammed anew about not acknowledging the truth by the media.

For god's sakes - does this guy not realize that campaigns have been lost for far less than a little white lie?

Fess up, man, and be done with it, take 48 hours of noise and heat, before October! You'll be hammered from here until eternity now that you chose not to answer after you scheduled the massive press availability!

My god, this is unbelievable. The GOP has good campaign operatives. Why is the GOP and RNC not helping this man? The national party is risking all downticket spots by abandoning Romney to the wolves and his own devices!

Mitt Romney told CBS News‘s Jan Crawford Friday evening that he did not attend Bain Capital meetings after he left the company in February of 1999 to run the Winter Olympics. But this answer appears to contradict sworn testimony he delivered in 2002 “as part of a hearing to determine whether he had sufficient residency status in Massachusetts to run for governor”:

– 2002: “[T]here were a number of social trips and business trips that brought me back to Massachusetts, board meetings, Thanksgiving and so forth.”

– 2012: “I was in Salt Lake City for three straight years. I don’t recall even coming back once to go to a Bain or management meeting. We were, I was out there running the Olympics and it was a full time job, I can tell you that.”

“Jan, I had no involvement with the management of Bain Capital after 1999,” Romney insisted on Friday.
