I didn't know this is the first year female jockeys are riding. Was there a rule against it before this?

Ortensia ran impressively. Pat Cummings touted him minutes before the race on TVG and the odds dropped from 8-1 to 5/2. Nice Pick!

Actually its not, Daron Long rode on Dubai World Cup night in 2000 in the first race of the evening in the graded Arabian race on a horse named Mr Full Service.
