HKG1 winner Super Satin...
He had won the Derby in 2010, had some other pretty nice wins, but hadn't done well the last couple of seasons. He retires with a rating of 104 which puts him in the 50th spot on the Top 50 list. Hope he gets to go back home now (NZ). |

Aikenite
http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...kenite-retired “He’s been a lovely horse for Dogwood—happily enough, named for our hometown of Aiken, South Carolina,” (Cot) Campbell said. “Aikenite has been reliable, uncomplicated, and is what a Thoroughbred race horse is supposed to look like.” He was fun to watch - and bet. |

SIR SLICK!
![]() 151 starts. Only two wins in his last 71 races, but 20 wins in his first 80. 15 stakes wins; six G1 wins. He was asked to run far too many times, and his performance suffered in the last few years. But I hope people remember him for the amazing first half of his career. And I hope he has a wonderful retirement in a nice big paddock. |

Thank God. Thank you for the only good news this weekend. I hope he has a very long, healthy and happy life and that his fans are able to go and visit him as he has millions worldwide. Absolutely thrilled. Thank you for some of the best racing memories ever. ![]() |

VOSNE ROMANEE.
A decent but unspectacular horse for most of his career; an incredible superstar for six months in 2009-10. http://www.theinformant.co.nz/racing...-Vosne-Romanee "'We were really happy he pulled up sound after Saturday and he’s in a big paddock now with grass up to his knees,' [owner] Ian Smart said." ![]() I'll miss him and his big blaze. |

I swear on my life tears are welling up in my eyes but i really really am happy. He was so much fun to follow and root for... a brave and honest horse who was a champion... I will miss watching that big blaze as well. Those replays of his I posted the other day... he's one of those rare horses where if I have time that is my idea of relaxation... watching his best days. Thank you ed for showing him to me and bravo to his connections for calling time now. HAPPY RETIREMENT, VOSNE ROMANEE, (and thank you for the fantastic memories)!!!! * * * Presvis. http://www.lucacumani.com/news.php?id=27 Last edited by my miss storm cat : 04-22-2012 at 11:02 PM. |
