For 20 mil a year the State could have continued to provide a awesome product 80 days a year. The product was wonderful the pools were big the fields were big the crowds were big and NJ was significant all for a crumby 20plus mil a year. You didnt need slots you didnt need parlays on football you didnt need anything. All they had to do was seed it for 5 years and watch as the product became important to NJ. Instead its a fn mess. What the heck is 20 mil to NJ

Forbes said if the THA bid is accepted, the group hopes to close on the deal next month and open Monmouth Park’s live racing season in mid-May. The group would also take over the Woodbridge off-track wagering facility and develop two more sites. The track would have three race days per week until Labor Day weekend in September — 51 race days in all — with $400,000 in daily purses.

The article didn't mention that they'll go from 11-12 races to 22-23 a day.
