Look guys...

I'm well aware that Giacomo is slow, yada yada yada... but IMO, this horse has looked amazing working and I'm impressed. It'd be another upset if he won, but I just can't leave him off of my tickets.

If Giacomo wins I may quit the racing game, permanently. I almost did when he won the Derby and he upset my Closing Argument/Afleet Alex exacta box.
I was cursing up and down that afternoon...I can only imagine if he wins the Classic. Girlfriend will likely send me out for a few days.

He messed up my exacta box as well, BUT if there's enough pace up front, he has a legit shot.

Yeah, there would be nothing worse for the game than to see owners who actually kept their Derby winner in training for a 4yo season be rewarded with a BC Classic win.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Giacomo is a good one-paced horse who depends on keeping on past tired horses. The only way he beats first class horses is if they go bonkers on the front end and kill each other off, ala the Kentucky Derby of 2005. The Pacific Classic last year would have been perfect for him, but he wasn't there and Borrego fulfilled the role of 'closer' taking advantage of an insane pace.

Giacomo is a plodder not a closer. I respect him as a past Derby winner and give him no chance in the Classic.

What makes some of you think there will be a hot pace up front? What do you see unfolding?

There will be a hot pace because of LM, that horse will go and go, until nothing is left...Not to mention PVal on LR, that is a surprise to me, they are trying to rate him, but put a speed ball jock on him...I predict a lightening fast pace...
