War of the World, a 9 year old gelding, at Doncaster after falling in a 3 mile race...

This was his 26th start.

His record was 3-4-2... he had won his very first race. It was all the way back in March of 2006.

I hope he didn't suffer. Rest in peace.

This thread.

I've had enough of the insults, rude pm's and nasty comments so congrats... you guys win.

If anyone would care to add the rest of the names for the year that would be nice.

If not it's fine.

Well done, gentlemen.

I give up.

Ditto what Deb said. I'm not on here every day but will try to fill in any names I see.

Anyone (especially the international group) can feel free to pm me any losses and I'll post them. Deb

You guys... I need to thank you and thank the people who sent pm's and stuff. This sounds fake but really... I'm just so touched and so grateful.

It got to be too much. You know? I know you've got to be able to take whatever crap online and I do and can but when it gets to be a kind of relentless bullying and then spills over into private conversations... I just couldn't bear to come on here cause I couldn't stop crying.

That sounds ridiculous but it's the truth.

I do feel like I need to step away somewhat from this and the waiting for news on thread... I just get too sad and hurt.

I can't leave though and I am sorry if I seemed like a drama queen but really... I cannot understand what kind of people - to be cliche - kick you when you're down and then keep kicking you and laugh at the same time.

That's how I felt.

So thank you for reminding me that that is just a small percentage of people and of other things as well. I am grateful.

* * *

I need to add these names...

Kerensa, a 5 year old mare, at Towcester in her first and only race...

Minella Humour, 6, also at Towcester...

Ashammar, 6 years old, at Wolverhampton...

Stoway, 9 years old, at Exeter...

... and Bering.

http://bloodstock.racingpost.com/new...loodstocknews/

That is really beautiful.

Happy holidays to you, Cardus, and thank you for being a big part of this festive holiday season.

You have truly touched my life.

You should be proud!

GOLDEN SILVER

Golden Silver dies after Dial-A-Bet Chase fall

By James Burn 3:53PM 27 DEC 2011 GOLDEN SILVER, the winner of three Grade 1 races including the 2009 Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase, died on Tuesday following a fall in this year's race at Leopardstown.

Trained by Willie Mullins for Violet O'Leary, the nine-year-old chased the leaders in the 2m1f contest, but took a crashing fall at the fifth fence.

Golden Silver career profile
Jockey Paul Townend, who rode the son of Mansonnien, was stood down for the rest of the Leopardstown card and taken to hospital.

Paying tribute, Mullins said: "He will be sorely missed in our yard because he was one of our great servants. He was a character too and all the girls in our place loved him and anyone could ride him.

"He was very classy, as all those big-race victories showed."

Formerly in the care of Hubert Hosselet, Golden Silver joined Mullins in 2008 and was soon off the mark for his new trainer, winning a beginners' chase at Naas.

He then landed the Grade 1 Arkle Novice Chase in January 2009.

His next top-level success came in the Dial-A-Bet and he also added the Champion Chase at the 2010 Punchestown festival to his cv.

Golden Silver, who won £590,323 in prize-money, never really fired in three visits to the Cheltenham Festival but enjoyed a great association with Townend. The pair combined 19 times for ten victories, including the three Grade 1s.

"He hit the top and I'd say he broke his neck when he hit the ground, it was pretty sickening and fairly awful to watch," said Townend. "Golden Silver was good to me and I'll miss him."
