Of course he's exceeded expectations. I just think throwing for a gang of yards isn't as important as being able to will one's team to victory when a victory is within reach. Perhaps that will change with experience.
The only thing I will say is that the Panthers offense isn't wholly untalented. Steve Smith can obviously still play, and if the Panthers would actually try running the ball occasionally, Williams/Stewart are very able backs. Not a lot of non-Tom Brady led teams can have long term success in the NFL with an offense as unbalanced as the Panthers have been so far.

Newton- real solid game 1. As for game 2, the yardage seems a bit fraudulent. The three INTs doesn't look good, nor does the QB rating in the low 70s for the game.

I thought sCam kNewnothin would be a complete fraud ... but throwing for 400 yards a game --- even in losing efforts in todays pathetic pinball scoring NFL -- is incredible for a rookie.

Scam=0-2, the Newtons (he and his dad) are loving the checks that are hitting the bank about right now. Hell, they already had money in the bank from last year but more doesn't hurt.

Well Dahler...looks like your frumpy opinion of Newton's Flaw is not exactly shared by legion.
Where do you get these crazy ideas from anyway?? |
