Yes, but Steve Haskin said on a ATRAB show last week that, in this year's BC magazine, there is a Darley ad that says....."Coming soon........the next big thing"..........and just pic of the top of a horse's head. That's probably Bernardini. However, I feel like there is a ray of hope now. I hope so- the Sheikh would be doing a serious disservice to the horse if he retires him at 3

I'd love to see him run next year more than anyone but I'll agree with the rumor idea. IMO he has just one more race.

thing is, this whole feud with coolmore....and giant's causeway is having a hell of a career at stud thus far. i hope they run bern next year, but i have my doubts. also, i guess everyone noted discreet cats entry in the bcc as 'insurance'. |

Tomorrow's DRF article on the Classic says Bernardini is expected to be retired after the Classic:
"The unbeaten Discreet Cat is expected to make his next start in the Cigar Mile at Aqueduct on Nov. 25. He will remain in training next year, whereas Bernardini is expected to be retired following the Classic. Discreet Cat was pre-entered merely as an insurance policy in case something unforeseen strikes Bernardini before final entries are due, and post positions are drawn, next Wednesday." --Dunbar
