No one mentioned the NFL style jockey intro's. That was my favorite part.

Speaking of jocks, one of the funny post race interviews occurred with Nakatani following his win on Regally Ready. He referred to the Asumessn operation as "well endowed".

Versus literally showed every race from race 2 through 4:00 on Saturday. Can't complain with the coverage NBC is giving horse racing, particularly with the massive amount of advertising they're doing during the NHL playoffs, etc.

On the national front, however, overnight ratings for this year’s Derby broadcast on NBC-TV declined 7 percent compared with the 2010 show, according to NBC, despite aggressive promotional efforts by the network and its family of channels. The overnight rating for the race segment, from 6 p.m. Eastern to 7 p.m. Eastern, was a 9.7, with a 22 share, down from a 10.4 overnight rating last year. The overall rating for the three-hour broadcast was a 7.4, with a 17 share. Final ratings will be released Tuesday, NBC said.

Yeah, it was generally accepted that it would drop this year, especially after Uncle Mo was declared...lack of star power. I don't think it helped much that virtually all the preps were ignored either.
