His dam has already produced a 10f, G1 winner which is a good sign and - more importantly - he has looked pretty good at 9f on more than one occasion. I could be wrong and the pace may end up being too quick early and he may fold up in the final furlong, but I think he remains my #1 pick. |

I kinda like that, although I might take out Santiva and add Soldat or Midnight interlude

Oops, you have Soldat, my bad. I think I would throw in Dialed In.

Thanks Steve and Mclem, now I only have to avoid the Whammy. It's been a personal favorite bet for me because the success I've had the last few years. The Original plan was to single R Heat Lightning and go deep in the Derby. As we all know, horseplayers have to make adjustments on the fly. Here we go.
Oaks/Derby Double FRI - R11 - Kentucky Oaks #12 Plum Pretty (5-1) WON $14.60 #4 Kathmanblu (4-1) #13 St. John's River (30-1) #1 Joyful Victory (5-2) #6 Zazu (4-1) SAT - R11 - G1 Kentucky Derby #19 Nehro (6-1) #16 Animal Kingdom (30-1) #8 Dialed In (4-1) #14 Shackleford (12-1) #17 Soldat (12-1) $1 Oaks/Derby Double - 1 4 6 12 13 / 8 14 16 17 19 = $25 $2 Oaks/Derby Double - 4 12 13 / 8 16 19 = $18 $10 Oaks/Derby Double - 4 12 / 19 = $20 Good Racing Luck

Bigjag, I posted this on your post despite your Giants beating up on my Mets this week.
Why was it always cold at Candlestick Park? Because they had Giant Fans. The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Fransico before I moved to Chicago.

Hey Bogey, you're the man. Honestly, I was kind of leaning that same way myself, with you're picks, so I think I will follow it, or adjust one horse or so. Are you set on that double? I think the only derby pick I am debating on changing from what you posted is taking a chance and taking out either nehro or dialed in for midnight interlude. Just taking a chance, derby style.
Hey now, we only took 2 out of 3. Can you guys deal us Reyes? The Giants will gladly deal a pitching prospect or too. Hmmm...thanks for the stick comment, those nights, even though I was only a little kid, were a killer, but very fond memories. That ocean wind from out in candlestick point was no joke. Good luck my friend. |
