the slots bill should have never been coupled with legalizing video poker and numerous casino licenses. Had it been allowed to go alone it would have passed. IMO AP has evolved into the Wrigley field of horseracing as it's no longer about the product on the field or track but rather all about the party. AP on nice weekends might as well be Kiddie Land.

If he's so worried about the bottom line and making a profit ... wouldn't Calder be a poor option?

Even dopey Gill eventually figured out that Pennsylvania is the right place to go when you don't have truly top horses.

Making a profit is far from the truth. Word is that he has taken the new rule personally because he would always win those 5-6 horse fields.

Arlington will be better for it. Although I'm guessing that Jamie Ness might swoop in now since he already has a stable at Hawthorne, but has never come to Arlington.
