God bless America. And broke race tracks and states. And crooked lawyers and trainers. And stupid people who believe in American justice.

I've always wanted to say that. I'm with Pants and Betsy on this one. Enough with the chickenshid scratching out of every freaking race in which conditions are not absolutely favorable to your horse. Those are tactics you see in a second grade playground. |

Thieves used to lose their hands as punishment for stealing. Make no mistake, Dutrow is a low-level thief. He lived in a f.ucking stall for crying out loud. He'll do ANYTHING to win. The guy should be in the winners circle waving his nubs. To see that he has all 10 fingers is sickening.

LATE money thrown down on Soldat made him the 7/5 favorite.

I would have never thought Soldat would be the favorite when the gates opened.

VERY disappointed in THAS........ I understand that maybe he wasn't 100%, but he should have run better than he did. If I'm Mott, I don't even consider the Derby with him. I doubt he got anything out of this race, not enough for him to run 1 1/4 miles in May

On another note, War Front is off to an unbelievable start as a sire.

I have no idea what your problem is except extreme arrogance, but go ahead and say that the horse ran a good race. I eagerly anticipate your analysis - or was your comment about War Front as much as we can expect from you. You sure have a hard time being civil. |

What exactly is your problem? I get that THAS wasn't going to be 100%, but he really ran a very poor race. He was factious in the gate for one.........he almost seemed a bit rank early. I had expected him to blow by Soldat, but then I really thought going in he was a very good horse. Do you really think that Mott can get this horse ready for 1 1/4 after his next start? He's got a lot of questions to answer now. |

Who knows though. Maybe something happened to him, or he didn't like the track. |

Also, I remember Indomitable Drug wondering if Bernardini took after his dam in siring relatively precocious horses (she didn't do so well past her juvenile year).............and maybe he's right. So far, about 15th on the 2nd crop sires list and I can count the number of his horses on one hand that have shown real promise this year. Of course it's too early to say they haven't trained on, but it's something to keep an eye on. |

You could have got To Honor And Serve at 2/1 late in the betting. A Soldat backer or maybe a few of them - played it very well in the exchanges. |

What's more of an annual rite on DT?
Logo threads for big race days or Betsy insufferably questioning the connections of horses on road to the Derby? |
