Belend, an 8 year old, in the 7th at the Fair Grounds yesterday clipped heels, fell and was euthanized. I believe he went off as the favorite.
He was a barn favorite for Gail and Michelle and a hard working boy in the claiming ranks that loved to race. He won his last time out at the FG on Feb. 7th. He was to be retired at the end of the year. May he run with the angels and keep winning. He will be missed. ![]() |

2005 Horse of the Year, champion, superstar Winter Solstice (South Africa)... only 10 years old.
He was, sadly, hit by lightning. Sit tibi terra levis. |

Princess Charlie, Saw Perfection, California Blue and Hetch, all while training at Golden Gate in the past month and a half.
High Lode, again at Golden Gate, while racing. (I didn't know whether to add him or not as there's been no official word but since Alan posted it and it's being reported on other forums figured it was, sadly, true). http://www.derbytrail.com/forums/sho...243#post757243 Rest in peace. |
