Ooops forgot to post that Mister Horse was 2nd (meaning his best race evah! Welcome back!).
![]() * * * 27/02/2011 Sha Tin Track : Turf Meeting No : 47 Course : "A+3" Course Race Name : THE CITIBANK HONG KONG GOLD CUP Distance : 2000m IRIAN (L187) VIVA PATACA (G096) PACKING WINNER (E334) MR MEDICI (K218) SPECIAL DAYS (H236) MIGHTY HIGH (L096) SUPER SATIN (K116) SIGHT WINNER (J049) KING DANCER (K129)******** Ummm Ryan Moore is coming to ride this guy! SUPER PISTACHIO (L099) CALIFORNIA MEMORY (L135) JAMESINA (H290) CARTHAGE (L256) * * * "VILASOL" INQUIRY 22/02/2011 The Stewards today concluded their inquiry into M Chadwick’s handling of VILASOL in the Sha Tin Handicap which was run at Happy Valley Racecourse on Wednesday, 16 February 2011. Further evidence was today taken from M Chadwick, the rider of VILASOL, and from Mr B K Ng, the trainer of the horse. Evidence was also taken from Mr Joseph Choi Yip Leung and Mr John Lai Ni Nhang, members of the 08/09 Peter Ng Trainer Syndicate, the syndicate which races VILASOL. Mr Ng advised the Stewards that when entries for this race were taken on Thursday, 10 February 2011, he contacted Jockey Chadwick and stressed to him the requirement that irrespective of which barrier the horse subsequently drew, he must endeavour to obtain cover on the horse as, in Mr Ng’s opinion, VILASOL races best when ridden in this manner. Mr Ng stated that he reiterated the necessity to obtain cover on VILASOL to Jockey Chadwick in the Parade Ring prior to the running of the stated race. Both Mr Choi and Mr Lai provided evidence that Jockey Chadwick had been told by Mr Ng of the requirement to obtain cover on VILASOL. M Chadwick was found guilty of a breach of Hong Kong Jockey Club Rule of Racing 99 (2) and (5) in that as the rider of VILASOL in the stated race, he did not take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race to ensure VILASOL was given a full opportunity to win or to obtain the best possible placing in the field. The charge against M Chadwick was particularised as:- That from soon after the start until near the 1500 Metres, he did fail to make any reasonable attempt to ride VILASOL in accordance with the explicit riding instructions given to him to obtain cover, when during the relevant section of the race it was both reasonable and permissible for him to have done so. That by failing to avail himself of the opportunity to obtain cover on VILASOL from soon after the start until near the 1500 Metres in accordance with his explicit instructions, VILASOL was required to race wide and without cover until near the 1000 Metres. That after obtaining a position one horse off the rail with the lead outside ANTIPASTO near the 1000 Metres, he failed to steady VILASOL and obtain a more advantageous position outside and slightly behind ANTIPASTO when it was both reasonable and permissible for him to have done so, given the fast sectionals run by VILASOL to that point when having to race wide and without cover. Rather he made further use of VILASOL to continue forward to eventually cross ANTIPASTO into the outright lead near the 600 Metres, thereby failing to avail VILASOL of the opportunity of more favourable sectionals. Jockey Chadwick’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to expire on Monday, 4 April 2011 on which day he may resume race riding (9 Hong Kong racedays ). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley racemeeting to be conducted on Wednesday, 2 March 2011.Mr Ng, Mr Choi and Mr Lai were advised that their evidence had been accepted. * * * Happy retirement, Couldn't Care Less. http://www.derbytrail.com/forums/sho...358#post755358 * * * Green Birdie pointed to the Takamatsunomiya Kinen (!). * * * Update..... "We found a piece of bone had come away near the suspensory on Collection's right foreleg and he just needed some time, but he will be back training on the small track this weekend and aimed at the QE II Cup." "Able One's hip injury has healed, too, and he will join Collection back at the track this weekend with the Champions Mile his goal. The good news is they will get over the injuries they had." - John Moore |

IRIAN was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On arrival at the barriers, IRIAN right front plate was re-examined and found to be correctly fitted. CARTHAGE and MR MEDICI were slow to begin. From a wide barrier, KING DANCER was shifted across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 1800 Metres, SPECIAL DAYS commenced to travel keenly when left racing wide and without cover. For this reason, SPECIAL DAYS was allowed to stride forward into the lead. MR MEDICI was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 300 Metres, PACKING WINNER was checked when disappointed for running inside SPECIAL DAYS. Passing the 200 Metres, the whip carried by Apprentice K C Leung (CARTHAGE) was knocked from his hand by the whip of Z Purton (SIGHT WINNER). Near the 100 Metres, W C Marwing left foot slipped out of the stirrup iron, resulting in him becoming momentarily unbalanced in the saddle. W C Marwing did not regain the use of this stirrup iron for the remainder of the event. When questioned regarding the performance of IRIAN, D Beadman stated that on the way to the Start and behind the barriers IRIAN became stirred up. He said the horse travelled satisfactorily during the early and middle stages and rounding the Home Turn he shifted IRIAN to the outside of VIVA PATACA into clear running. He said in the early part of the Straight IRIAN responded satisfactorily to his riding to improve its position to be racing on level terms with VIVA PATACA, however, over the final 150 Metres IRIAN was disappointing in that it failed to respond to his riding and finished off the race only fairly. He added that after the race he noted IRIAN had lost its right front plate. A veterinary inspection of IRIAN after the race did not show any significant findings other than the Veterinary Officer had confirmed that the horse had lost its right front plate. A veterinary inspection of VIVA PATACA after the race revealed that horse to have a bleeding medial quarter crack to the right fore extending through to the coronary band. Before being allowed to race again, VIVA PATACA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SUPER SATIN after the race did not show any significant findings. IRIAN, CALIFORNIA MEMORY and KING DANCER were sent for sampling. http://www.hkjc.com/english/racing/r...eno=7&venue=ST |
