Those stats are totally irrelivant in this discussion. When further examining the races that Horse "A" and "B" ran in, I would think that horse "A" would have been 20: 20-0-0 in those races, where I can't be sure horse "B" would have been 13: 9-2-2. This is just getting beyond ridiculous now.

The pathetic part is that the four horses you just named could beat the fields that Zenyatta beat running backwards.

Come on, Gio Pointi just isn't that good, and and he's a turf horse anyway. Mastercraftsman???? Seriously? Summer Bird was better on dirt and probably could have won last year on dirt. You can't make a case for Zenyatta based off a pro-ride win over Summer Bird.

Not to mention being wired twice by 2 horses who would be called good, AT BEST. Funny Z never got wired. Pace was against her many times, lone speed and everything, she always ran them down.

That is precisely the reason why many people argued that Zenyatta's ability to overcome negative pace setups would not be nearly as strong on dirt and would lead to her having lost a couple of the races she pulled out. Why we're arguing about what they did in 2009 with regards to HOTY is beyond me. |
