They have an arrangement with a Canadian group and a lot of the ones who underperform wind up at Hastings.

Darley bundled him with 10 other horses and off-loaded them to a pair of Vancouver, British Columbia, software millionaires early this year. http://www.drf.com/news/burj-dubai-handful-barn Okay must now step away from the nice thread before i start defending anyone. |

Chhaya Dance was the most successful one so far out of the bundled rejects from last year that was sold to 3 sisters thoroughbreds and trained by Mike Chambers., and I guess this years went to the Canadians. Interesting to note Chaaya Dance is an AP Indy who comes from the same family as Tempera, Colour Chart who is Tempera's dam, and Convocation who races back east for Jerkens. CD won a stakes race here and was a contender for last years LGA Mile at EMD. I remember last seeing him in a race at Hollywood this winter.
As for this years batch sold to the Canadians, I havent a clue |

It isn't for lack of effort. It takes a lot of luck to win a 20 horse rodeo.

You can argue that part of their failure is the hubris that winning via the Dubai route is effective and viable. Once they realize that will never work... they'll win one (or more.)

Most recent example has been Vineyard Haven. If they had bought Worldly Manner and left the poor thing with Baffert then it would of had a chance. When they came to their senses and had some horses here under the Darley banner as 2 yr olds that were spread out between Eoin Harty out West, the midwest string was trained by David Duggan, and Eastern side of things were with Biancone, McLaughlin, and Dan Peitz. They would all winter them in Dubai and we all know how that ended up
