First one at 8am sucks, but the 10th is awesome.

Gotta ease your way into the juleps. Stop at Finlandia on the way in, grab a bloody mary at 10:00, a julep at 11:00, then move to beer. Your handicapping acumen plummets, but it makes for an otherwise fun Derby day.

My buddy has the simple syrup already prepared. It's hard to chill those things. They are tough out of the gate, but they get better with time.
