On the flip side, it should be a great game in Atlanta tonight and the best thing about it is it will be on TV. Clemens goes and he has been red hot.
Atlanta's best pitcher Chuck Jones is on the mound.
To Atlanta, this is like a playoff series. This is the first time since 1990 that they haven't gone to the playoffs. All they have left to play for is to knock out the Stros, who have been a playoff rival in the past.
Of all the teams with losing records for the Stros to play, this is probably the last one they'd wanna play.
Cardinals are home, and they are playing a very bad team who is playing for absolutely nothing.
Looks like the Mets will open against the Pads or Dodgers(I'm still thinking Pad's) and the other team faces either Houston or St Louis.
I don't have the foggiest notion of who will emerge from that league, not even a clue. Pedro being completely out hurts the Mets. He can't even be used in relief.
AL is interesting only in seeing who plays the Yanks in the first round. Anybody know who wins the tiebreak between Tigers and twins? WHo won this years series between them?

Tigers...I'm really hoping for a collapse so PSU doesn't get a bye week before Michigan but that'll only happen with a collapse by Detroit.

Default Cardinals is because of coaching

LaRussa is a bum, plain and simple. HE KNEW he had to win yesterday, so did EVERY SINGLE CARDINAL and they still can't pull out the stops AT HOME, against the comedy Brewers.

This is going to be SO AWESOME when they choke

LaRussa might be the most overrated manager of all time. He should be right there next to Dusty Baker in the Hall of Managers who should never manage again.

And the Braves? They don't give a rat's heinie. They're out of it and want to start golf season somewhere.

On the other hand, the mighty Brewers care because alot of those guys are playing for contracts. Brewers are going to sweep the Cardinals

Well,Marquis was brutal last night. These are must win games.Penney went out and got the sht knocked out of him in the 1st inning yesterday. So,I know what it is like to have somebody go to the mound with nothing. The difference is that the Dodgers quickly got that slug out of the game, and attacked the Rocks pitching hard. The Dodgers knew they were in trouble with their own bad middle relief, and so they simply crushed the opposing pitchers in a desperate attempt to avoid losing.19 runs says a lot about who was willing to fight for a playoff spot.If the Cards want in,they better start crushing some opposing pitchers.

Well Scuds, you said they would probably get in. That every time they were about to get headed they would come back and pull away again. I cant think you have very much confidence left in the Cardinals at this point. They're going down.

I would consider a 1/2 game lead being headed.I would not consider a 1 1/2 game being headed. So,now is where they have woke up all season. This isn't the 1st time they have been caught when slumping. We will see if they respond like they have when caught by Cincy earlier this season.
