it's okay though. i have wood floors and plantation shutters so i randomly scream out the window that i'm straight so my neighbor's don't get confused.

no one that deep in denial ever acknowleges any amount of gay.

he felt the need to announce he was straight because he partook in a topic about being gay. like gay was cooties and you might catch it.

Timmi's not a bad guy & he was just replying to my question when he said he was straight.

I just would hope he could realize that me or BWS being gay.. or Timmi being straight.. are not "choices".

In the meantime, I'm going to think about all the times I thought being equal and privileged was just too easy, not challenging enough, and how at the age of 9, I hatched the marvelous plan that led me to where I'm at today -- the one where I decided I wanted to pay more taxes than those who make the same amount as me in order to get healthcare, how I want to be told I can't marry someone I love, how I want to increase the chances of getting my skull bashed in at a bar, and how much more fun I figured it would be to be told I was going to hell on a daily basis rather than just accepting my privilege.

I mean, I know we're talking about albatrosses here, so my story is really irrelevant, but should anyone feel like lashing out at timm for his comment, please take my very serious testimony of how I wound up a big queer into account before taking him to task. Come on -- it just sounded more fun! Who wouldn't choose that?! I guess I'm only shocked that more people don't have the same thought process as me and go straight out to a bathhouse!

Nice try with this emotional story but if this is part of your diabolical plot to get timm to feel bad for you so that you two become close and eventually you can put one of your gay moves on him....don't bother.

Oh no, I don't wish to convert Timm, I only wish to lend credence to his idea that a story about albatrosses should not be stretched into a commentary on humans, as obviously even a diabolical 9 year old could know that nobody was BORN that way...and had to choose it.

It's obviously a choice, and one made by kids around the country every day, fully understanding the repercussions of what that choice will mean. But, really, by the time you turn 20 and realize just what a bad choice it was, how can you go back? What would your family say? What would your friends say?

I can speak from personal experience -- it's simply too late to turn back. It's just being gay on principle at this point.
