Silver Goblin was hung up 4 wide on the first turn and gave a good account of himself in defeat.
It was a race or 2 after The Donn where Holy Bull got hurt....that was the big story, not Cigar's 6 length win.

Yeah - he had some ugly lines in a few races.

Though he had wins in the Indiana Derby and Sir Beaufort mixed in.

I recognized the Kentucky Derby running line and the Kings Bishop where Forestry beat him.

He never ran in the King's Bishop ... the 2nd place in the Grade 1 was to the Indomitable Theatrical gelding Run Man Run in the Malibu.

Was Run Man Run the only Theatrical to ever win a Grade 1 sprint?

Run Man Run...." trained " by the immortal Tony Margotta.

Actually, he had a pretty good, but reasonably unknown, actual trainer.

You are right. Just found the video- it was Five Star Day the year later (1999) who battled Forestry with almost that exact running line.

Actually.

The truth was about Artax, that idiot incompetent buffoon jackass Bradshaw ran Artax against Indian Charlie and Real Quiet while anemic. When he finally figured out he couldn't get his horse to perform at a top level while anemic, he finally laid him up.

Single worst training job by probably the worst big name trainer I can ever remember.

Artax was a beast.

What are the two other G2's listed, Indiana Derby and Pegasus?
