Sacred Light pulled up lame and was vanned off at GG yesterday.

For those who don't remember, he was a derby contender, but ended up 23rd in graded earnings (97k). He finished 9th at Belmont and 4th in the Ohio Derby. After that he went progressively downward racing in Allowance, AOC, and Claiming races. He's been in the Hollendorfer barn since 1/4/09

He's earned $380k lifetime.

Colby Hernandez went down very hard, trying to check with a colleague of mine who owns and races over there as to the status of those involved.

Wow I'm just kind of stunned. That's insane to read. My imagination about what it must've been like for those at the track just goes all sorts of places that aren't very pleasant. Geez.

Sincero-he ran in the sixth at gulfstream yesterday. blew the first turn, apparently the saddle slipped-he veered to the outside on the backstretch and flipped over the outer rail. was wondering if anyone knew how he and the rider came out of that?
