Bloodhorse had an interesting article on how the economic downturn might increase the chance for a Triple Crown winner:
Good Chance for a Triple Crown in 2013 I just hope he's a gelding.  Was it Affirmed's trainer or owner who said they wouldn't really know how good he was until he raced at 4? Ah, the 1970's...
