R1 - Mendip (alt; Fareej), Uncle Tom (alt; Cappiwino)
R2 - Swop (alt; Green Coast), Otaared (alt; Greek Renaissance)
R3 - Bridge Of Gold (NAP) (alt; Monte Alto), Lignon's Hero (alt; Emerald Wilderness)
R4 - Lizard's Desire (alt; We'll Come), Bab Al Salam (alt; Moiqen)
R5 - Raihana (alt; Talenta), Ishitaki (alt; Waasemah)
R6 - Gayego (alt; Sir Gerry), War Artist (alt; Musaalem)
R7 - Mourilyan (alt, Quijano), Topclas (alt; Halicarnassus)
R8 - Lucky Find (alt; Shaweel), Spring Of Fame (alt; Golden Sword)

Very tough decision between Bridge Of Gold and Mendip for the NAP this week. Gone for the horse who I believe will start at a bigger price. Both Mendip and Bridge Of Gold should win. Bridge Of Gold ought to have far too much class for these, and as far as I'm aware he took the trip very well and has had no setbacks. He wasn't at all fir for his latest win, which makes it look even better. His trainer says he's the best his trained and this is merely a stop off before much better things.

I'm not convinced Lizard's Desire is much of a bet at likely prhibitive odds, but it's hard to side with anything else as the main selection, although I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him get stuffed. Bab Al Salam looked in badly need of the run when all of the rage on the opening night and I'm giving him another chance to show himself in the form we know he can produce.

Swop was very eyecatching latest, but everyone will have seen that, so although he has very much a winning chance, his odds will not reflect the actual chance. Otaared could be ignored in the betting because of Swop's participation and is easily good enough. It was very difficult to choose which one I should put where, but I went with Swop at smaller odds as the bigger stake and Otaared at bigger odds as the smaller stake hoping it will act like a £40 dutch on the pair.

Raihana and Gayego will be very short, but neither can be opposed.

The final two races are the hardest of the day. Quijano's fitness and wellbeing have to be taken on trust and for that reason he's just a 'reserve' for me. However, if he's fit and well, he'll probably dispose of these. Mouriliyan is the 2nd best horse in the race and showed great form in the Melbourne Cup, showing his wellbeing. Topclas has decent form in France, no weight on it's back and looks like a race that will suit.

The last is a nightmare, I'm taking a massive chance that Lucky Find will "fancy it" for a change, because if he does, he will pick the others up, carry them, put a blindfold on, tie his hind legs together, throw the others towards the post and still be back in the bar sipping on some audacious cocktail before the others have worked out who has finished 2nd and 3rd! Spring Of Fame hasn't been the horse I thought he might have been, but he's honest enough and shouldn't be far away at the finish.
