it was a booby that showed up at least 20 years too late. I think Danzig said she saw old man belly and was offended.
I thought the Who were about to die. They are past it. Pete Townsend did pretty good for a deaf guy but it was terrible. Wow, Van Halen ..with or without David Lee Roth? I've never been to cheeseburger in paradise but I've heard it is nothing special and it cost like $50 to eat there.

i didn't watch it, only heard it. didn't sound too good to me. i think they need to move away from bands that are old enough to draw social security. how about nickelback next year? honestly, i don't care for the shows since it's always a cut up montage of a lot of songs. just not my thing.

A Superbowl 2010 halftime show featuring, among others, songs from the rock opera "Tommy", a Who album first performed for the coronation of George III, seemed a bit dated. Next year, the NFL might want to be less concerned with the copyright of the play list and more concerned with carbon dating of it.

yeah I didnt think the Who were that great compared to previous years shows. They just looked really really old - If it wasnt for their great songs, it would have been a disaster..
On an unrelated note, this was my favourite moment from last night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzKWLLxqp4Q

While watching at one point Daltry's lips seemed to be a little out of sync with the audio. Was there a audio delay or were they lip-syncing?

I don't think there is any chance they were lip-synching. I don't think a network would allow lip-synching at an event like the Superbowl. Lip-synching is rarely done any more. It is considered a big no-no. The last person that was caught lip-synching was Ashlee Simpson on Saturday Night Live and she got blasted for it. I think she claimed she had a cold or laryngitis or something like that. That was her excuse. She got crucified in the media. Lip-snyching is not considered acceptable nowadays and it is totally frowned upon. There is no way The Who was lip-synching. I would lay 20-1 odds against it. By the way, if you watch the performance again on youtube it is perfect. The audio is perfectly in synch with the video. Last edited by Rupert Pupkin : 02-11-2010 at 05:10 AM. |

they were lip synching. it was glaringly obvious because he hesitated on one word, which came through on audio, but you could most certainly see he didn't say it on the screen. it was at the end of one of the songsl ines it wasn't a case of being 'off'. he was on til that one word. as to why they do it, it's so there are no glitches in the performance. we've all seen times where bands flub a song. the anthem is pre-recorded, and so is half time.

Sure, Daltrey’s lip-synching was a bit of a blow to the gut — I mean, this was the band who always thrived on live performance. However, I have to imagine the NFL is rather cautious these days about what they’ll allow and what they’ll forbid. I suppose lip-synching is a guarantee of a smooth performance with no flubbed lines, vocal imperfections or, more realistically, the possibility of a subliminally uttered message during the world’s most viewed sporting event. regardless of the article, i know what i saw, which is what my husband and son saw.
