Putting aside the whole plastic to dirt concern, if I had a top 3YO, why in hell would I keep him in So Cal now if I knew some race critical to my schedule could be canceled if a bird pees on the track?
I don't think FG or GP has ever had to reschedule a 3YO stakes race. OP, maybe--they do get snow and frozen tracks occasionally.
