Less than a week after his electrifying parley with House Republicans, President Obama will be doing another televised question-and-answer session tomorrow morning -- this one with the Senate Democratic Caucus.

.. the president will meet with the caucus at the Newseum, where the senators will be assembled for an issues conference to discuss policy, strategy and message for the coming year.

White House advisers were thrilled with Obama's defiant, substantive and engaging dialogue at a House Republican retreat last Friday; tough and sometimes misleading questions seemed to bring the best out in him.

... camera crews will record Obama's remarks tomorrow -- and will be allowed to continue rolling once the questions start coming.

Despite the growing amount of frustration with Obama from the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, the questions at the Newseum are unlikely to be anywhere near as confrontational as those from the Republicans, ...

When John McCain military man has said for years that he will follow what his generals advise (as what they say happens to match what McCain wants) - then those same generals change their mind and advise McCain to do something McCain doesn't want to do - yeah, I have a problem with McCain's sudden "change of mind" and sudden refusal to follow what his generals advise.

I had no problems with previous Presidents. How can you respect this jackass that is trying to give the military only a %1.4 pay raise. Yet he gives all this money to Haiti that could be used to give the military a better pay that they deserve. I wont go into the fact that the retirees and Social Security didnt get a Cost of Living Raise. Hasnt the price of food gone up this year? Why would this jackass care about military and retirees, he has no clue about what military life is and what a military family goes through with deployments. Im sure your one the millions of Americans that was mislead by O'Dumbass. Hope your happy with who you voted for. It is my wish that in 2012 the American public, active military, military retirees, and people on Social Security wake up and vote this ******* out of office. Hopefully if this virus is voted out the above mentioned people will be given the respect that they deserve. I know if a Republican is President the active military and retirees are taken care of like they should most of the time. A white sheet and hood isnt part of my weekend uniform, maybe its part of your weekend uniform.

Do you realize Republicans wanted (still do..heard it from a fine Texan this week) to give people paying into Social Security (for say like 35 years already) a reduction in what they will get when they retire? You're worried about cost of living increase, but not about how the new retirees would get screwed? If they're gunna do that it better be on a staggered scale (closer to retirement age, the least bothered.) They've paid into it a long time while under a certain impression.

Unemployment is at 10% officially and in reality more like 17-20% , people are losing jobs and their houses and you are crying about a small PAY RAISE. Dude you live in a bubble.

i'd imagine it's a small cost of living raise for the military, since the govt already said there was no increase in the cost of living. military should be pleased they got something that soc sec recipients were told wasn't happening. does the military give up a lot? absolutely. but do keep in mind, it's a volunteer force-when you enlist, you know exactly what you're signing up for. no one who joins is under the impression they will get rich working for uncle sam as a soldier/sailor.

Wow, pay raises....that's the kind of thing lots of people haven't had the luxury of getting for about two years now. Bonus rollbacks in lots of companies, stagnant wages while cost of living rises. For a second there, reading all those posts, I was almost convinced of a major conspiracy against the military to keep their pay and benefits low while the rest of us overwhelmingly prosper with huge pay raises, plentiful jobs, and free money baskets handed out if you can prove you voted for Obama.

Love the chart link. You probably have no clue the sacrifices the military makes. Doesnt food go up and gas go up? Its not fair that people living on fixed incomes take it up the shorts because of this ungrateful ******* that we have as President who could give a **** less about the active military, retired military, and people living on Social Security. He would rather feed and help people in other countries. Also you have the worthless aholes getting bonus checks who got bailed out by O'Dumbass.
