My friend smuthg remembered this date last year... since he's not around I'll do it this time.
There are many, many lovely tribute videos. I was trying to decide which link to post but then I thought no... how about instead of mourning his death we remember and celebrate his life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ienAR...eature=related |

I don't have to see the link to know what day it is. RIP Barbaro; please keep your brothers and all their friends, competitors and companions safe.

Champion Lodge, today.
I know that he came very close to being slaughtered and was rescued, but not much more than that. Maybe someone who does know the story could post? Anyway, I know he was sick so at least he's not suffering any more. Rest in peace. * * * Sefapiano... http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...sefapiano-dies * * * Don'tputmeback, at Philly yesterday... http://www.drf.com/drfPDFChartRacesI...=20100202&RN=9 |

I started following him because of his name...
It seemed like he disappeared... a 20 month layoff... but he came back and won! I had heard he was gone but I won't add any name unless it's confirmed and so a month later, I finally found it. Britts Jules was in the race too (he's fine). Wasn't he 3rd in the Super Derby? Something like that. All those 2004 races seem special... I guess cause they were the first I had ever paid any attention to. It's a shame to watch them drop down. All these boys were running for a tag (4 thousand). Anyway, at Golden Gate on January 7th, in a race I guess not many cared about, IB Bad, who had just turned 10, came in 2nd. He sadly died after the race. Since no one bothered reporting this here's all I could fine. IB Bad... knows how to win. http://www.recordnet.com/apps/pbcs.d...SPORTS/1070307 IB Bad prompted the pace to the turn, raced three wide to the stretch, dueled the winner..... http://www.equibase.com/premium/eqbP...AY=D&STYLE=EQB http://chrb.ca.gov/Minutes_Golden_Ga...G_10_01_10.pdf VETERINARY REPORT Euthanized / Died 01-07-10 I B Bad (Tr. John Martin) irregular heartbeat in test barn /collapsed/died; racing He deserves more than this but really, what else can I say other than I was a fan and that this sucks? Rest in peace. |
