I don't think JB will be that heavily bet based on winning the Calder stallion series for 2-year olds. Many of these are exiting graded stakes races. Even William's Kitten ran an OK 2nd chasing Super Saver towards the end of the KJC at Churchill in November. If JB is the post time favorite, I would guess it would be around 2-1 or 5-2.

There has been way too much talk about Jackson Bend for him not to be the favorite unless a barn or owner or someone goes crazy on another horse.

Where is his good dirt race? His maiden race sucked, I crushed Rein King that day and hes turned out to be a slob, then look at the 2 who beat him in the stakes, I doubt this is a real dirt horse, might need turf/synthetics.

Talking Aikenite

I was at Santa Anita on Breeders Cup day and I thought he ran a "sneaky good" race since he had some trouble. He has had trouble lines in other races as well.

I like the way he runs and the pattern of his races. He had ascending Beyers into the Breeders Cup. The distance should be perfect. I'm a big "Yes, It's True" fan so I'm biased on his breeding. His works at Saratoga and Belmont (on dirt tracks) were excellent last year. He has been working well at Palm Meadows this year.

I wouldn't call Rein King a "slob" by any means. Although this is probably the most talented group of 3-yr olds to race yet this year, none of these horses ultimately scare me.

My belief is that we have not been introduced to the best 3-yr old colt of 2010 yet. And maybe that colt will even come out of the West.

I'm glad that "Holy Bull S." stood for the Holy Bull Stakes...
