Like who? Who else was he going to sign? David Lee at 12 million? Milsap at 10 million? and thats if they would even want to come to detroit. And would you really give those guys that money? Its easy to sit back and judge but you don't have to sell that city, coach or team to a big time free agent. And beyond that you dont have to sell to a fan base that is use to a bit more.

The old "who else was he going to get" theory? They could have done nothing, saved the money and be 12-25 with no one coming to the games. You really think Ben Gordon or Charlie Villanueva sell tickets? They are not guys who further the cause, put a foundation down to create a better team. These were terrible signings.

You can't "just do nothing". You miss the point...badly. If those guys go somewhere else and do really well, guys like you are coming back and saying "detroit should have signed them".

Villanueva is averaging 14 pts and 5.5 rebounds per game and plays 30 minutes a game. What exactly do you expect at 7 years and 35 million these days?
