He also grew from a boy into a man the past decade. Why would a golfer use hgh? to make a putt? I guess maybe could have used something to heal faster... which it does say he did the blood spinning thing from that particular docter... but you are right that you cant put it passed him.

When Tiger Woods first came on Tour, he was about 20 years old and he weighed around 160-165 pounds. I think now he weighs around 185-190 pounds. Tom Pernice has been on the Tour for years. He was always in great shape. He was always 5'10 and 150 pounds. Now all of a sudden he is 5'10 and 170 pounds and he doesn't have an ounce of fat on him. I know he works out really hard but I still don't know how it is possible to gain 20 pounds of muscle if you aren't using some type of supplement. For a short period of time I had a personal trainer who worked with professional athletes. I asked him how much weight I would gain if I started working out really hard every day. He told me I'd probably gain 3-4 pounds. Much like in baseball, I've seen golfers that have bulked up in a way that seems almost impossible without taking some type of supplement. Here is another article about this doctor that Tiger has been treated by. This doctor is strongly suspected of providing athletes with performance-enhancing drugs. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20091215/D9CJPQJ80.html Last edited by Rupert Pupkin : 12-16-2009 at 04:20 AM. |

Here is an interesting article about HGH. The article explains that alot of athletes have switched from steroids to HGH. There is practically no way to get caught using HGH.

i doubt golfers are using things like this to get bigger, but to quicken healing from injury. tiger had that bum knee, use of PED's would help him get back to work more quickly.

He's 33 now... 20-25 pounds in 13 years, I bet 90% of the posters on this thread gained 20 pounds in that amount of time. |

I just looked up his driving distance over the years. Back in 1993, when he was still an amatuer, he played in some PGA Tour events. His average driving distance was 272.3 yards. In 1994, it was 277.3 yards. In 1995, it was 298.5 yards. From 1996 to 2000, he was at 302.8, 294.8, 296.3, 293.1, and 298. In 2005, he was up to 316.1. In 2006, he was at 306.4. In 2007 he was at 302.4. Some of the added distance could be due to better equipment but I certainly think he has gotten longer over the years up until his knee injury. In 2005 and 2006, he was hitting the ball 30-40 yards longer than he was back in 1994 when he was 19 years old. |

When 55 year old men can drive the ball 20 yards further than they could as 40 year old men something is going on! Have you looked up the stats on the average drive length per year in the PGA tour during that same period? I havent but would suspect similar rises.
