Midas Eyes broke his maiden by 8 going 5.5f at Calder for Hatchett - got an 84 Beyer. The Bobby Frankel/Ed Gann machine bought him right after that race. He won The Swale by almost 10 lengths in 1:21 flat his next start. 110 Beyer and crushed Posse and Whywhywhy. Midas Eyes only managed a single Grade 1 stakes win for Frankel though ... when you get one that can run an 84 Beyer for Hatchett - and you go to the Frankel machine - big letdown of a purchase. |

Yep.
Vineyard Haven broke his maiden by over 4 lengths in his debut at Calder, also going 5.5fs - got an 81 Beyer. Frankel took that one from Lyne Scace after that race. He got back to back Grade 1's from him in the Hopeful and Champagne and than got the Dubai people to overpay bigtime. |

I think I actually bet Midas Eyes in the 2003 BC Sprint(yes, that read 2003 not 2004). I was definitely drinking the Frankel kool-aid that year. It didn't work out for me. F&*king Heat Haze.
