maybe the offense wasn't as explosive without harvin , but surely you watched the games , save the alabama game this was the best defenese in the country all year long
Florida had a great defense all year long but the offense wasnt anywhere near the same. Special teams wasnt anywhere near the same. They just werent nearly as dominant.

Bama on the other hand got better. QB play was better in the big games (va tech and fla). Secondary seemed faster and pass rush was better. Not just this game, all year long.

If you think this Florida team was as good as last year's florida team, as usual, you will be very lonely in having that opinion.

how many teams start the year #1 in all polls and go through the regular season undefeated .....take a quick look it's not that many that go wire to wire add in the fact that they had an x on their back becuase they were defending champs makes it even tougher ----just to remind you this was flrida
s 1st undefeated regular season ever ---keep that all in mind

speical teams did not go backwards this year at alll that is a complete myth
the only argument you have is the lack of scoring , the defense this year was on par with last year's offense .....how many teams ever held lsu to 3 points in a night game in tiger stadium????

I don't have all day to explain the game to you. Look at margin of victory for the games last year to this year. Look at the difference in stats. If you still don't understand I can't help you.

so going undefeated during the regular season , going wire to wire as a #1 team , holding lsu to 3 points in tiger stadium at night and you want to tell me florida regressed becuase of losing to a team that was vastly improved

i'm not buying it , they had 1 close call all year , against Arkansas at home other that that they never had to sweat

alabama was a better team this year no question , but , i'm not buying the fact that florida was worse than last year , i watched a defense shut everyone down this year during the regualr season , they layed an egg yesterday and mcillroy came up big but that was the only bad game of the year for them

(yawn)

the gators were the third highest scoring offense in the country last year (46.3 per game) and won by a staggering average of 37 points. This year, they won by an average of 11.8 per game and scored on average nearly 20 points less.

Last year's squad was being compared to amongst the best in Gator history as well as one of the best in college football in the last 20 years. This year? They won and did what they needed to do but they were hardly dominant in a few games that you would expect them to crush.

The defense was great all year. But the offense just wasnt the same. All in all, they werent as good.

I have to agree that i dont think fla was as good this year on off as they were last year but there d iwould think would be pretty close to last year. All in all bama dominated start to finish and really showed an aggressive playcalling that u have to think threw uf off from the opening bell. I am a bama fan but i always try to look at things in a even light and my ? for texas is that, and correct me if im wrong, most of the teams in the big 12 run a form of the spread. my concner for them would be once they start getting hit in the face by the bama o line what is gonna happen? ive watched bama all year and its been the sam thing. 1st qtr runs for 2-4yds 2nd qtr runs for 3-5 yds and by the 4th there getting 8-10 yds they just wear you down. is texas ready for that? i know that texas is good but i think the styles in the teams play i.e. physical v.non physical texas hasnt run the ball much will make a difference.

let me share a story i got first hand yesterday BEFORE the game kicked off.
during walk through on friday, fla had the field first. when Bama came to take the field fla was horsing around playing touch football. tebow was playing center and wr, the linemen playing qb. as the teams passed, the smack started and fla "challenged" Bama. the Bama coaches and team captains stepped in and sent the Bama team on it's way, the Normal pre-game walk through. get in get it done get off the field.
IF fla was "horsing around" friday, sounds a bit cocky to me? and their coaches allowed it?

another story most of you probably didn't hear. the gatorade bath, didn't happen. defensive capt. Ro McClain stopped it. told the guys " we ain't won sh** yet. one more game to play."
that tells me this team is on a mission and has leadership among the players. something Bama has NOT had for a few years. confirmation of this came during the post game radio show.
the first question eli gold asked mark ingram "what's the difference between this years team and last years?" MI's answer, "this years team has TOTALLY bought into the process! we had guys last year that didn't totally buy in and it showed at times."

shula had some BAD head cases on his teams and saban couldn't get rid of them all at one time. (though he tried) saban has no choice but to play the head cases the first 2 years because they didn't have enough depth.
what's left of shula's guys have now bought in and are contributing. the rest are saban's players and it now shows.
people outside of Alabama fans just don't realize how bad a shape the program was in. shula had talent and couldn't control it and didn't coach it very well.

do i think Bama blows tx out? No. do i think Bama can win? yes. do i think we'll see Bama collapse like last year against utah? i'd be shocked! but i've been wrong about this team all year. i owe the Bama OL an apology. i NEVER thought they'd play this way. there are 2 guys in this OL from fla and No fla school wanted them!

Bama and texas will both be well prepared. it comes down to, what team can handle the 5 weeks off the best. that's the simple fact or modern day bowls.

Congrats Coach and Tide! Your team just freaking crushed the Gators. Ingram is sick thats for sure. Gators didnt play well and the uniforms were so ugly.. wish it would have been a closer game for the excitement but man Alabama was so much better than Florida it was like watching TCU play New Mexico.

They played well 3 outta 4 quarters. Good QB though and he's got 2 more years ahead I think.

I'll have Rose Bowl expectations for them next year..
