Every Thanksgiving weekend I think about what it would be like to have the Breeders' Cup on Friday/Saturday. Yeah, it's kinda cold at times, but oh well. The benefits of it spacing out the fall races, eliminating the pinch on many racetracks and races, and giving everyone more flexibility in terms of where/when to run their horses is a good thing. It pinches the Euros a bit, but ultimately, seems like a good idea.

Leparoux committed to ride in Japan Friday and Saturday before Einstein was pointed for this.

Is it going to be wet THIS WEEKEND in New York, Kentucky, or SoCal? Yep. It's a bad idea. People bitch about the synthetic, but slop n' watery spinach turf aren't great either (tons of bias involved.)

Macho Again needs a wet track and/or a pace collapse to matter.

Didnt it fall apart?

The top pace horses finished 14, 13, 12 and 10.

Those pace horses were: 112-1 Anarko, 9-2 Etched, 32-1 Timber Reserve and 42-1 Kiss the Kid. Really only one of those horses figured to do much better. You also neglect to mention that Misremembered and Einstein were close to the lead and finished up just fine.

This is a debate I've had with TFM, but where the pace horses finished doesn't make it a pace collapse. The fractions have to be quick as well, and they weren't. They were average, maybe slightly above. Far from the kind of setup MA needs, especially on a dry track.

I love arguments like this. That's like saying Zenyatta is only a nose better than Anaaba's Creation. Sound right?

Its not an argument but a statement of fact.

Out of curiousity since you seem unable to drop the topic - do you really believe Rachel does not deserve HOTY at all?

I think we all know the transitive property does not apply in horse racing.

If we are going to apply it anyways, what about the filly Rachel soul-crushed in the Mother Goose by a country mile, Flashing, coming back to win the Test and the Gazelle in hand? Or the multitude of other horses she dominated that have won graded stakes since, such as Summer Bird?
