A buddy of mine told me today that the thoroughbred daily news reported that the one winning pick 6 ticket for Saturday was purchased in South Dakota for $48. They singled conduit and goldikova.

Some guys from somewhere in the Dakotas won it in 2003 with a rediculously low bet. Maybe lightning strikes in the same place again? This was also at Santa Anita back when it was a dirt track.

So much for your big rebate shop bettor conspiracies:

Was 48 dollars large enough for you Philcski?

That's a little misleading:

The unidentified bettor, who placed his or her wager through the South Dakota-based account wagering provider Royal River Racing, played multiple tickets, but the one that included the winning combination cost $48 and singled TVG Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner Goldikova (Ire) and Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1) winner Conduit (Ire).

Royal River Racing is a rebate shop as well- has some of the largest bettors in the country as clients.

The writer of the article you linked is one of my really good friends. I talked to him today about the pick 6 payout actually and he was working on getting the actual tickets played to expand the article for print.

Excellent. In the meantime, to what advantage does someone in that situation play multiple tickets?
